§ 28. Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the total tax bill in 1985–86 is expected to be lower or higher than in 1984–85.
§ Mr. MooreNorth sea tax receipts, and onshore corporation tax (reflecting the strong growth in profits in 1983 and 1984), are expected to rise sharply between the two years. Largely as a result, total taxes and national insurance contributions, including local authority rates, are forecast higher in real terms in 1985–86 than in 1984–85.
