§ Mr. Ian StewartThe Government do not target the dollar's exchange rate against sterling. But we, together with our G5 partners, expressed in Washington on 17 January our commitment to work towards greater exchange market stability through prudent financial policies, supply side improvements and, as necessary, intervention in the foreign exchange markets.
