asked the Secretary of State for the Environment which local authorities with social services responsibilities are being rate capped in 1985–86.

The following rate limited authorities have a statutory responsibility to provide social services in their areas:

  • London Borough of Brent
  • London Borough of Camden
  • London Borough of Greenwich
  • London Borough of Hackney
  • London Borough of Haringey
  • London Borough of Islington
  • London Borough of Lambeth
  • London Borough of Lewisham
  • London Borough of Southwark
  • City of Sheffield Metropolitan Council
