Dr. McDonald

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will publish in the Official Report the numbers employed in each sector of the information technology industry, namely, office machinery, electronic data processing equipment, telecommunications equipment, radio and electronic capital goods, electronic components and sub-assemblies and electronic consumer goods, for each year from 1979 to 1984.

[pursuant to his reply, 18 March 1985, c. 346]: The information on employment is not available at the detailed industry level requested. The following table gives the information which is available:

supplementary benefit, (b) rates rebates with supplementary benefit, (c) mortgage interest payments with supplementary benefit, (d) rent rebates and rent allowances for working householders, (e) rate rebates for working householders, (f) mortgage interest tax relief including option mortgages, (g) improvement grants and (h) rent subsidies.
