What charges are levied for light dues, and on what basis, at the following ports: Southampton, Milford Haven, Le Havre, Rotterdam and Hamburg.
§ Lord Brabazon of TaraVessels calling at ports in the United Kingdom are required to pay light dues which are calculated in accordance with regulations made under the Merchant Shipping (Mercantile Marine Fund) Act 1898. The amount charged on a particular ship depends on a number of factors including the type of ship, its tonnage, the nature of its voyage and the frequency of its visits to United Kingdom ports. The structure of these dues is currently under review.
There are no charges for light dues in France, Holland and West Germany.
