§ Mr. Strangasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the British Government's preparations for the non-proliferation treaty third review conference in Geneva in September.
§ Mr. LuceWe are actively preparing for this important conference. British delegations attended the two preparatory committee meetings in 1984 and we will be represented at the third and last session of the preparatory committee in April. Our preparations have included regular consultations with the other depositaries of the treaty, the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Our intensive preparatory work reflects our firm commitment to the treaty and our determination that the conference will be successful.
