§ Mr. Heddleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the recommendations of the Building Societies Association report, "Mortgage Repayment Difficulties" a copy of which has been sent to him, in so far as they relate to his responsibilities.
§ Mr. WhitneyWe have read this report with interest, particularly those parts of it which discuss the help which can be given with mortgage interest payments to those getting supplementary benefit. The whole question of help with housing costs is currently under consideration as part of the social security reviews.
