§ Mr. Alan Howarthasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has yet responded to the Civil Engineering Economic Development Committee's report, "A Fairer and Faster Route to Major Road Construction."
§ Mr. RidleyI made an interim response to the report when I met the civil engineering EDC this morning. I am anxious to make faster progress with road building but the interests of people affected must be safeguarded and we must ensure that we get value for money. I am actively exploring possible improvements. I hope to announce final collusions by the autumn.
