§ Mr. RaisonThe World Bank's special facility for sub-Saharan Africa is not expected to become operational until 1 July. When it does, British firms should be able to bid for contracts financed from the facility, and under the special jount financing provided by the Federal Republic of Germany, Japan, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This follows from the Government's decision to untie the United Kingdom contribution to the special joint financing, which is now being communicated to the World Bank.
