§ Mr. Peter BottomleyAccording to the "New Earnings Survey", the percentage increases in average gross weekly earnings of full-time adult employees working a full week between April 1979 and April 1984 have been as follows:
Percentage Males Manual occupations 66.5 Non-manual occupations 87.9 Females Manual occupations 69.0 Non-manual occupations 86.7 Changes in average earnings will reflect changes in the composition of employment and do not necessarily imply corresponding changes in rates of pay for comparable jobs.
