HC Deb 07 March 1985 vol 74 cc540-1W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why the Greater London council was stopped from selling, by auction, three properties at the Angel Islington junction.

Sir George Young

On 10 October 1984 the GLC was asked to supply certain information required to enable my right hon. Friend to give proper consideration to its application for consent under section 8 of the Local Government (Interim Provisions) Act 1984 to dispose of five properties at this junction. It was understood that disposal in the manner proposed could prejudice early consideration of road improvement works. I regret to say that to date the GLC has not responded.
