Mr. Haynes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many new hospital developments have taken place in the Trent health region since May 1979; and if he will list them.

[pursuant to his reply, 4 March 1985]: The following 11 developments each costing more than £2 million have been completed since May 1979:

  • Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital.
  • Glenfield District General Hospital, Phase I.
  • Bassetlaw Hospital, Phase I.
  • Leicester General Hospital, Mental Illness Unit.
  • Leicester Royal Infirmary, Phase III.
  • Lincoln County Hospital, Phase I.
  • Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, Phase II.
  • Rotherham District General Hospital, Phase II.
  • Kings Mill Hospital, Outpatients Department.
  • Keresforth Centre, Barnsley.
  • Kendray Hospital, Barnsley, Phase I.

Nine more schemes are currently under construction and a further eight schemes are due to start in 1985–86.
