§ Sir David Priceasked the Prime Minister if the Government will consider extending eligibility for the basic retirement pension with a view to making it equal as between men and women and flexible as between the years of 60 and 65.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government are now considering the findings of the inquiry into provision for retirement conducted by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services, which considered these and other issues. We expect to publish our proposals in the next few months.
