HC Deb 05 March 1985 vol 74 c436W
Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will estimate how many British subjects have lost entitlement to pensions accruing from work in other countries because of the unilateral actions of the Governments in those countries in the last five years for which figures are available.

Mr. Renton

We hold no general records of British expatriates who have lost pension entitlements in recent years.

The ODA maintains records of expatriate employees of Commonwealth Governments. In many cases agreements have been concluded with the Governments concerned for ODA to take over and meet outstanding pension liabilities. No record is however maintained of expatriates employed by other foreign Governments or the private sector overseas.
