§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Prime Minister if any formal or informal request was made by the Government of the Soviet Union to bring to Britain for the anniversary of VE Day, the Sword of Stalingrad presented to that city by Sir Winston Churchill; and if she will make a statement.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government have received no such request. However, I understand that the Soviet authorities have indicated informally to the Imperial War Museum that it might be possible to borrow the Sword of Stalingrad for inclusion in an exhibition which the museum plans to mount in May.
