asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has received as to the estimated number of manual and officer grade posts which will be lost in the local authorities named in the Rate Limitation Order as a result of its implementation.

I have received no complete information of this kind. It is for each selected authority to decide how to live within its rate and precept limit.
