HC Deb 04 March 1985 vol 74 c368W
Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make steps to secure the signposting of Gatwick airport on main roads leading to it from Kent and the central London area.

Mrs. Chalker

[pursuant to her reply, of 1 March 1985, c. 310]: Gatwick airport was added to the list of approved destinations on primary routes in 1982. It is also one of the key destinations for signs on the M25. Additional signs to the airport will be provided at the M20-M26 junction this summer and on the A21 (Sevenoaks bypass) to the south of the A25, as part of the signing associated with the M25 Swanley-Sevenoaks link currently under construction.

Signing on non-trunk roads both in Kent and Greater London is a matter for the local highway authorities.
