asked the Secretary of State for Wales how much has been paid in drainage grants to farmers in Wales during the last year; what were the corresponding figures for the last 10 years; and if he will make a statement.

The amount paid in drainage grants under the farm capital grant schemes to farmers in Wales during the past nine years is as follows:

I have no specific plans to help pig producers. Returns to producers have been higher in recent months than during the corresponding period a year earlier.
