§ Mr. Giles ShawThe additional costs incurred by the Metropolitan police in providing mutual aid to other police forces in connection with the miners' dispute are estimated at £16.5 million. These costs fall to be met by the aided forces and almost £10 million has been paid to date. Discussions on repayment of the balance are currently taking place with the police authorities concerned.
