HC Deb 24 June 1985 vol 81 c272W
Mr. Freud

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he proposes to publish health warnings on cartons of unpasteurised milk; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. MacGregor

Under existing regulations, all milk sold under the special designation "untreated" must also be clearly labelled "raw unpasteurised milk" irrespective of whether it is sold in cartons or in bottles. This requirement was introduced with effect from 1 January 1982 and is intended to ensure that consumers are aware of the nature of the product that they are buying. We have no plans to introduce further labelling requirements.
