asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the 20 areas in Scotland with the lowest levels of naturally occurring radioactivity.

The National Radiological Protection Board has measured the gamma radiation dose rates due to the naturally occurring radioactivity present in rocks and soils in about 80 per cent. of the 10 kilometre grid squares of the national grid in Scotland. Those sites showing the lowest values are as follows:
