§ Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) whether he will reinstate soluble paracetamol tablets on the limited list in the interests of patients who need a soluble preparation but who experience peptic problems from aspirin, even in soluble form;
(2) whether he will reinstate frisium capsules on the limited list in the interests of patients with mild anxiety states who do not require a heavy sedative and who need to drive a car.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeWe will shortly be setting up the committee that will review and maintain the selected list. The committee will be free to consider the clinical need for these or any other drugs. All benzodiapine sedatives and tranquillisers can affect driving ability and should carry warning labels pointing this out.
