§ Mr. Giles ShawFive hundred and forty-nine complaints against the police arising from the miners' strike have been recorded under section 49 of the Police Complaints Board and, since 19 April, its successor, the Police Complaints Authority, had, up until 19 June, considered the outcome of 135 completed complaint investigations arising from the dispute. No discipline charges have been preferred as a result of these complaints, although advice has been given to the officers involved in four cases.
