HC Deb 24 June 1985 vol 81 c298W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to how many households with dependent children are currently being housed by local authorities in bed and breakfast accommodation.

Mr. Gow

At the end of December 1984, the latest date for which information is available, it is estimated that there were some 3,300 households in England which had been accepted as homeless by local authorities and were being housed in bed and breakfast accommodation. Information on the characteristics of households in bed and breakfast accommodation is not collected by my Department.
