HC Deb 18 June 1985 vol 81 c96W
Mr. John Carlisle

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will take steps to ensure that, during the road maintenance works to be carried out around junction 8 of the M1 between 2 and 16 July, any work which might impede traffice flow on the A1 between Baldock and London is suspended for the same period.

Mrs. Chalker

The contractor responsible for the A1(M) Roestock-Stanborough scheme at Hatfield has been instructed to keep two lanes open in each direction on the dual-carriageway section. There will be a change in junction layout at Roehyde on the single-carriageway section, but this is not expected to cause additional delays to traffic. There will be no other roadworks on Al between Baldock and London during this period.
