§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he has received any information as to whether changes in the United States' security export control procedures have resulted in difficulties being encountered by United Kingdom companies in obtaining electronic equipment or components from that country.
§ Mr. ChannonWhile we support the underlying purpose of United States security export controls, the procedures associated with them can be time consuming and a source of occasional difficulty for United Kingdom companies which rely on supplies of electronic equipment or components fom the United States. But I have no information which suggests that these problems have been made worse by recent changes in the US regulations.
