HC Deb 14 June 1985 vol 80 c556W
Mr. Best

asked the Attorney-General what changes have been made to the cash limit on class XIII, vote 13, (Public Record Office).

The Attorney-General

The cash limit on class XIII, vote 13 (Public Record Office) has been reduced by £334,000 from £10,821,000 to £10,487,000.

The reduction takes account of £334,000 transferred to class XIV, vote 1 (Property Services Agency) and reflected in the Main Estimate, to provide funds towards modifications and improvements to the air-conditioning system at the Public Record Office, Kew, as recommended by the independent review commissioned following the closure of the building last year. A copy of the report on the review was placed in the Library on 27 March.

The reduction will have no effect on the total of public expenditure.
