Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment pursuant to the answer of 20 May, Official Report; columns 343–4, to which authorities and bodies the Minister for Local Government has offered his Department's good offices in considering how worthwhile work on (a) central computer services, (b) technical services and(c) scientific services currently provided by the metropolitan counties and the Greater London council could be maintained; in what form the offer was made in each case; on what date; and if he will make a statement.
