§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe following private hospitals and nursing homes in the Greater London area are approved by our Department under Section 1(3) of the Abortion Act:
Approved beds Gordon Hospital 3 Leigham Private Clinic 29 London Private Hospital 50 Marie Stopes Nursing Home 13 New Cross Nursing Home 13 New Victoria Hospital 2 Park View Clinic 30 Raleigh Nursing Home 19 Rosslyn Nursing Home 37 Royal Masonic Hospital 4 We do not hold information centrally about the total numbers of staff employed in these places, or about facilities for abortions or related staff in NHS hospitals In 1983, the average gestation period at which abortions were carried out was 10.5 weeks This includes abortions carried out on resident and non-resident women
