§ Mr. NewtonSince 1981 the association has been in receipt of an annual grant from the Department in recognition of the valuable work that it does. The association has recently written to me in connection with its application for increased financial assistance to enable478W it further to develop its work and to put its activities on to a more secure financial basis. I have replied, asking that further information be supplied to officials to enable a decision to be reached quickly on the application in the meantime, an interim payment is being made to assist with the association's immediate needs.
