HC Deb 12 June 1985 vol 80 cc444-5W
Mr. Ron Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) on how many occasions in the year to 31 March the Forestry Commission issued felling licences which permitted felling of broadleaved woods, without there being conditions attached for the replanting solely of broadleaved trees; and what area of woodland this involved;

(2) on how many occasions in the year to 31 March officials from his Department confirmed to the Forestry Commission that a proposal to clearfell a broadleaved woodland and convert it to agricultural land would make a significant contribution to the viability and economy of the agricultural holding concerned.

Mr. John MacKay

I shall reply to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
