§ Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for Energy if Kleinwort Benson, in its rôle as merchant bankers advising the Government on the sale of British Gas, will be permitted to allow its employees to deal in the shares.
Mr. Buchannan-SmithN M Rothschilds & Sons Limited, which has been appointed as the Government's merchant bank adviser on the sale of British Gas, has already decided not to allow its employees to apply for British Gas shares.
