§ Mr. MacGregorIn 1984 the state veterinary service accounted for 31 per cent. of total ADAS manpower at an estimated cost of some £40 millions. Total resources provided by ADAS (including inputs from the state veterinary service) for agricultural advice were 30 per cent. of total manpower at an estimated cost of £39 millions and for research and development were 34 per cent. of total manpower at an estimated cost of £41 millions.
