§ Mr. Simon Hughesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list for each year since 1979 the lengths of hedgerows destroyed, and planted on farms with agricultural development grants.
§ Mrs. FennerI regret that the Ministry does not keep records of the length of hedgerow removed or planted, against which capital grant has been paid. However, with few exceptions, grants for hedge removal were discontinued in 1976 and then terminated completely in 1983, since when no further grants for this purpose have been approved.
