§ Mr. Stradling ThomasThe total number of felling licences granted by the Forestry Commission for the thinning and clear felling of woodland in Wales in the year to 31 March 1985 was 139. The total area of timber felled under licence in the year is not known as the Forestry Commission does not normally monitor the situation on the ground after granting a licence, unless replanting conditions are involved and these conditions are due to be fulfilled.
