HC Deb 03 June 1985 vol 80 c6W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Prime Minister, further to her answer of 20 May, Official Report column 276, to the hon. Member for Holborn and St. Pancras, whether it is Government policy that review body terms and conditions would apply to doctors and nurses working in any National Health Service hospitals which might be managed by private companies.

The Prime Minister

The pay of nurses and doctors employed in the National Health Service is subject to the recommendations of the review bodies, and their national terms and conditions of service are determined by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services following negotiations with the professions concerned. We have no plans to change this and no changes in management arrangements for any NHS hospital could affect the position.
