asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he is satisfied with safety standards for the transport of irradiated fuel.

The regulations governing the safe transport of irradiated nuclear fuel are based on the stringent standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency. During the 20 years that this material has been transported in this country, there has not been a recorded incident involving death or injury.
