Mr. Squire

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what funding his Department has given in each year since 1979 to (a) international year of the child, (b) international year of the disabled and (c) international youth year.

The information in cash terms is as follows:

International Year of the Child (1979):

International Year of the Disabled (1981):

The Department has made none; the Government's main financial contribution has been channelled through the Department of Health and Social Security.

International Youth Year (1985):

Grant aid to the International Youth Year National Co-ordinating Committee for England.
