§ Mrs. Ren¹e Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to be meeting representatives of the Medicines Commission to discuss with them recommendations made by the Royal College of Physicians in respect of legislation to protect healthy people who volunteer for drugs trials.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe report of the Royal College's working party is not expected to become available to the Medicines Commission until the autumn. In the light of that report the commission will reconsider whether there is a need for further safeguards, and will then advise us what action, if any, it considers should be taken.
