HC Deb 03 June 1985 vol 80 cc90-1W
Mr. Steen

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, (1) pursuant to the answer of 20 May, Official Report, column 363, what are the implications of the requirements of the Fishing Vessel (Financial Assistance) Scheme 1983 in respect of the 'Devon Ray'; and what further steps are required so that the Devon Ray satisfies the decommissioning within the terms of the scheme;

(2) what specific steps have not been fulfilled by Mr. Wakeham in relation to the 'Devon Ray', which are preventing it being decommissioned within the requirements of the Fishing Vessel (Financial Assistance) Scheme 1983.

Mr. MacGregor

[pursuant to his reply, 24 May 1985, c. 582]: The specific steps not fulfilled are those discussed with the solicitors acting for Mr. Wakeham in November 1984 and confirmed by us in writing on 5 December 1984. These are: conversion work on the galley, the deck saloon and the wheelhouse to the satisfaction of the local district inspector.
