asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he now expects to receive the report of the Scottish Tertiary Education Advisory Committee.

The position has not changed since my written answer of 17 July 1985 to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Cathcart (Mr. Maxton) at column83.
The chairman of the Scottish Tertiary Education Advisory Council has informed my right hon. Friend that the council expects to submit its report on the future strategy for higher education in Scotland by about the end of October.
