HC Deb 26 July 1985 vol 83 cc854-5W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the number of submissions he received in response to his consultation paper on simplified planning zones; and how many bodies were in favour of the proposals in his paper.

Mr. Ancram

Thirty responses were received to the consultation paper issued by the Scottish Development Department on 17 May 1984. General support for the concept of simplified planning zones was expressed in 10 of the responses, although some of these included comments on the details of the proposals. Four responses did not contain views either in favour or against the concept of simplified planning zones.
