§ Mr. Lawrenceasked the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the answer by the Minister of State on Thursday 25 July, when the junctions and flyover at the start of the M3 were constructed; whether the pressure on the walls retaining the motorway embankments and the strength of the carriageways through the junction were matters considered and approved by his Department at the design stage; whether the £3 million cost is additional to the contract price; and if he will make a statement.
