asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many appeals against deportation were (a) determined and (b) allowed in each year since 1979.

The following information, which has been obtained from the appellate authorities, shows the decisions taken in the years in question in respect of appeals to adjudicators against the decision to make a deportation order.
