askedthe Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the number of minutes or hours of work a male manual labourer on average earnings needed to complete in each of the years 1975 to 1985, respectively, in order to earn the average retail price in that year of the following items (a) weekly rent of a three-bedroomed council dwelling, (b) weekly mortgage repayment on a newly built semi-detached house, (c) five gallons of petrol, (d) monthly second class railway season ticket Brighton-Victoria, (e) large loaf of bread, (f) 20 cigarettes, (g) one pint of beer, (h) one bottle of whisky, (i) dinner for two in a restaurant, (j) a dishwasher, (k) a pair of shoes, (l) oil central heating for a three-bedroomed dwelling for one week and (m) two pounds of lamb.
