HC Deb 25 July 1985 vol 83 c702W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many people have been accepted as homeless in the London borough of Waltham Forest in each year from 1979; and how many were priority cases.

Sir George Young

The following is the available information:

Number of accepted households
Year Number
1979 467
1980 512
1981 535
1982 773
1983* 352
* First half.

About nine out of every ten accepted households were in priority-need. My Department does not collect information on the size of those households.
