§ Mr. JoplingThe report is now available and will be published today. Copies are available in the Vote Office676W and the Library. I am grateful to Lord Peyton and his colleagues for having so promptly completed their difficult task.
The committee's principal recommendation is that the authority should be dissolved, though not before the end of 1986—which it considers would give all sections of the industry an opportunity to evolve alternative arrangements for continuing those of the authority's functions which are thought to be necessary for the future.
My colleagues and I will now be inviting comments on the report and will reach conclusions on its recommendations in the light of those comments.
