Whether, following the decision of the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal in early June, prisoners in other parts of the United Kingdom will be able to apply to a High Court judge for review of a disciplinary punishment imposed by a prison governor.

No. The decision of the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal inMcKiernandoes not affect the courts in the rest of the United Kingdom, and the courts in England and Wales are still bound by the decision of the Court of Appeal in Regina v. The Deputy Governor of Camp Hill Prison, ex parte King.
