HC Deb 22 July 1985 vol 83 c438W
41. Mr. John Hunt

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has made any assessment of the results of the campaign against unlicensed and abandoned vehicles in the London borough of Bromley, launched by his Department in collaboration with the Bromley borough council in April; how many cases of unlicensed vehicles were referred for prosecution during the period of the campaign; and how many vehicles were removed from the streets during the same period.

Mr. Michael Spicer

The campaign against unlicensed and abandoned vehicles in the London borough of Bromley resulted in the collection of more than £61,000 in additional voluntary relicensing. Reports on over 700 unlicensed or abandoned vehicles were received, 200 cases have so far been referred for prosecution, five cases are the subject of removal notices by the local authority and investigations into the remainder are continuing.
