HC Deb 22 July 1985 vol 83 cc439-40W
Mr. Lord

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what precautions are taken to ensure that foreign coach drivers are properly qualified and experienced to drive in the United Kingdom.

The police and authorised officers of the Departmemt of Transport have powers to require production of drivers' licences. Drivers of coaches which temporarily enter the United Kingdom must hold the appropriate class of foreign licence or international driving permit.
